The Cape reveals the history of two competing fishing families who established powerful businesses in the tangled mangroves of Far North Queensland.

Isolation, an all-consuming sexual obsession, and a chain of seemingly innocuous decisions all contribute to the apparent double homicide of Brad and Bevin Simmonds. In this fascinating portrayal of a closed and isolated community, Michael Ware and Justine A. Rosenthal, take us on a journey into Australia’s Deep North and the human psyche to discover what we’re capable of when our humanity is stripped bare.

Who has made The Cape

Written and directed by Justine A. Rosenthal and Michael Ware, Revealed: The Cape is produced by Richard Finlayson, with executive producer Jude Troy and associate producer Alexandra Cameron of Wooden Horse.

The documentary is captured by Torres Strait Islander-born cinematographer Eric Murray Lui and edited by Karryn de Cinque, with original music by Michael Yezersk.

Revealed: The Cape is the fifth title in Stan’s landmark documentary slate, following Amongst Us – Neo Nazi Australia, No Mercy, No Remorse, Trafficked and Reefshot. The Stan Original Documentaries have been created in collaboration with award-winning journalists, filmmakers and philanthropists from Australia and around the world, and cements Stan and the 9Network’s collaborative partnership.
