ITVX’s “Crime” Season 2 Premieres 14 September

In the upcoming second season of Crime, set to premiere on ITVX on 14 September, viewers will witness Ray Lennox’s (Dougray Scott) return to Edinburgh Serious Crimes. After a breakdown caused by his pursuit of Mr Confectioner, Lennox is eager to prove his recovery. However, he is met with surprising changes within the team. Bob Toal (Ken Stott) has lost his confidence, while Amanda Drummond (Joanna Vanderham) has been promoted. Additionally, two new members, the cunning Tommy Stark and unsuccessful actor Norrie Erskine, have joined the group.
When one of Lennox’s former colleagues becomes the target of an attack, Lennox and Drummond quickly realize that there is more to the situation than meets the eye. The case they delve into revolves around themes of vengeance, identity, and social justice. As they investigate the incident further, they discover its connection to a gruesome attempted murder of a prominent figure in an upscale hotel—a crime that has been concealed from the authorities. Lennox’s exploration takes him through Edinburgh’s various locales, from saunas to crack dens and luxurious hotels. However, he encounters resistance at every turn, suggesting an orchestrated cover-up by those in power.
As the killer sets their sights on one of Lennox’s own team members, the puzzle pieces begin to align. Tracing the underlying motivations back to a troubling event thirty years ago, Lennox starts to comprehend that this case is far more intricate than initially perceived. The pursuit of justice unveils the possibility that the killer he has been relentlessly chasing may not hold the ultimate power behind these murders.
Crime Season 2 Premieres 14 September 2023 on ITVX.
