Sky Present Mr Bigstuff First Look With Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson
Get a first glimpse of Danny Dyer (Eastenders, The Business) and Ryan Sampson (Brassic, Plebs) in an image from the upcoming Sky Original series “Mr Bigstuff.” This six-part comedy follows the story of estranged brothers Glen (Sampson) and Lee, played by Dyer in his TV comedy debut.
“Mr Bigstuff,” created by Ryan Sampson, is a relatable comedy that delves into the complexities of broken families, brotherhood, manhood, and even carpet sales. Scheduled to premiere in Spring 2024, the series will be available on Sky and the streaming service NOW.
In an intriguing image released from the show, we get a glimpse of the two distinct brothers at the center of the story. Glen (played by Ryan Sampson) is portrayed as a nervous perfectionist and dedicated carpet salesman who constantly strives for the idyllic suburban lifestyle. On the other hand, Lee (portrayed by Danny Dyer) is depicted as an alpha male battling a prescription drug addiction while keeping their father’s ashes stored in a biscuit tin.
This dynamic between Glen and Lee sets the stage for an engaging exploration of their contrasting personalities and experiences.
In this Sky Original series, Glen shares a seemingly perfect but boring life with his fiancée Kirsty. However, underneath the surface, Glen suffers from crippling erectile dysfunction while Kirsty (played by Harriet Webb) hides her secret shoplifting habit. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Lee comes crashing back into their world as he tries to escape his troubled past. Forced to live together under one roof in an Essex cul-de-sac, these three individuals – a perfectionist, a fantasist, and an anarchist – soon find that their so-called “perfect” lives begin to unravel faster than the weave of a cheap carpet.
Joining Ryan Sampson and Danny Dyer in the cast are Harriet Webb as Kirsty along with Adrian Scarborough, Fatiha El Ghorri, Ned Dennehy, Victoria Alcock, Geoff Bell, Nitin Ganatra and Judi Love among others. Keep an eye out for “Mr Bigstuff,” airing on Sky and streaming service NOW during Spring 2024.
Anil Gupta serves as executive producer for Sky Studios, alongside Tom Miller and Sam Myer from Water & Power Productions. The series was created and written by Ryan Sampson, with executive producer Matt Lipsey directing and Hayley Sterling from Sky Studios producing.
