Kiri streaming on Acorn TV UK from Monday 2 October
Jack Thorn, winner of the BAFTA for his work on “National Treasure,” is back with a compelling four-part serial drama exploring the aftermath of the disappearance and murder of a young Black girl named Kiri, who was to be adopted by her white foster family.
Miriam (Sarah Lancashire, Happy Valley), a seasoned social worker who loves and believes in her job but takes a maverick and instinctive approach to protecting the children in her care, serves as the drama’s central character.
When Kiri disappears during an unsupervised visit with her biological grandparents, suspicion and blame are immediately cast in Miriam’s direction by the police, the press, and even her coworkers.
With Sarah Lancashire (Miriam Grayson), Lucian Msamati (Tobi Akindele), Paapa Essiedu (Nate Akindele), Steven Mackintosh (Jim Warner), Lia Williams (Alice Warner), Finn Bennett (Si Warner), Wunmi Mosaku (DI Mercer), Felicia Mukasa (Kiri Akindele), Andi Osho (Rochelle Akindele),
Kiri premieres on Monday 2 October 2023 on Acorn TV UK.
