Savage River: Episode 2 (S1EP2 ABC TV Sunday 11 September 2022)

When she wakes up, Colleen (Jacqueline McKenzie) discovers that Hugh (Andrew Gilbert) has vanished.

When Lynne (Nadine Garner) visits Miki (Katherine Langford) at Terry’s home, she insists that there have been no reports and that Miki should get up and go to work as if nothing has happened.

Miki runs into a concerned Colleen as she enters the police station to inform them of her new position. In her efforts to find Hugh, she has been asking around, but something doesn’t seem right.

Miki notices the security cameras as she returns to the meatworks and gets ready to work. She fabricates a reason to search for the tapes in an effort to learn the truth. The system is broken, just like everything else at the meatworks, but Kevin (Daniel Henshall) doesn’t seem to care.

Savage River gathers that evening for their yearly town festival. Although everyone is present, Miki is under tension. But when Hugh’s body is discovered floating face down in the river, the evening comes to an abrupt end.

Detective Rachel Kennedy (Virginia Gay) arrives in town the following morning to look into Hugh’s passing. She is the ex-wife of Kevin and the mother of Ivy, and she is well-versed in the area.
