Babylon Berlin Streaming on SBS On Demand From March 14

German drama series Babylon Berlin is set to make its Free to Air premiere next week on SBS On Demand.

Babylon Berlin has garnered critical acclaim over the years, with 40 episodes produced across four seasons from 2017 to 2022. A fifth season has already been confirmed.

Set against the backdrop of Berlin during the Roaring Twenties, this gripping series delves into a world teeming with organised crime and political extremism. As the old militaristic elite still cling to power, hidden beneath the city’s glamorous facade lies a much darker reality. The metropolis buzzes with talent and ambition, but a malevolent force begins to exert its influence.

The story follows Toni as she navigates the streets of Berlin alongside her group of young peers. They fight for survival in an environment where danger lurks around every corner, constantly putting her sister Charlotte at risk. Simultaneously, Detective Gereon finds himself embroiled in investigations centered around the boxing milieu. These inquiries take him uncomfortably close to Hitler’s SA, serving as a stark reminder of how quickly and forcefully Nazi power is rising.
