BBC Two Announce LAURA KUENSSBERG: STATE OF CHAOS – 3 Part Documentary Series

Laura Kuenssberg: State of Chaos, presented by BBC Two and BBC Current Affairs, investigates the causes of some of the most dramatic and chaotic political events of the past generation. In a three-part, hour-long series from October Films, Laura wonders if our politics have been pushed too far and, if so, whether they can ever return to normal.

On Monday, September 11 at 9 p.m., the premiere will air on BBC Two, and the following morning at 6 a.m., it will be available on BBC iPlayer.

What is State of Chaos about

As BBC’s political editor, Laura was front and centre as events like the Brexit referendum, high-profile resignations, elections, prorogation, and the pandemic unfolded. She plans to look into the reasons for the period’s toxic atmosphere and add her own thoughts to the mix.

Beginning with the outcome of the referendum and ending with the resignation of Liz Truss, the documentary will feature candid and revealing interviews with cabinet ministers and senior officials who were present for some of the most momentous decisions in British politics. Senior civil servants and Number 10 staff members who have never spoken publicly before will also be interviewed exclusively for the programme.

Laura Kuenssberg: State of Chaos is directed by Sarah MacFarlane and Max Stern. The series director is Daisy Ayliffe. October Films Head of Topical Programmes Neil Breakwell is Executive Producer. The programme was commissioned for the BBC by Head of Current Affairs Joanna Carr. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Gian Quaglieni.
