Dami Im is The Masked Singer Australia Winner
Singing sensation Dami Im has emerged as the winner of The Masked Singer Australia, beating out tough competition from platinum-selling artist Darren Hayes (Grim Reaper) and award-winning performer Conrad Sewell (Bouncer). In her final performance as Snow Fox, Im delivered a chilling rendition of Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” leaving the judges perplexed. Mel B, Dave Hughes, Abbie Chatfield, and Chrissie Swan all made their guesses, but it was Swan who correctly identified Im as the talented singer behind the mask.
Im expressed her excitement at winning the competition, noting that it was particularly meaningful for her as she had previously won The X Factor Australia on the same stage exactly ten years ago. She also shared a heartwarming story about how she learned to speak English by listening to Spice Girls songs after moving to Australia at the age of nine. Meeting Mel B, a former Spice Girls member, was a special moment for her.
Conrad Sewell, who came in second place, reflected on his experience on The Masked Singer Australia, describing it as an emotional rollercoaster. He expressed his excitement about revealing his identity to his son and announced that he and his partner are expecting another baby, a girl.
Darren Hayes, the runner-up, opened up about his emotional journey on the show. He revealed that he had cried under his mask every time Abbie became emotional at the thought of him being the Grim Reaper, as his music had influenced her journey to come out as bisexual. Hayes expressed gratitude for the show, describing it as a warm hug during a tough year.
The Masked Singer Australia is available for catch up on 10 Play.
