Endeavour Will Return To ABC Australia This March

Returning for its ninth and final season on ABC TV Australia is the Inspector Morse prequel crime thriller Endeavour.

This airs only a few days after its UK premiere and stars Shaun Evans (DS Endeavour Morse) and Roger Allam (DCI Fred Thursday).

Endeavour, written by Russell Lewis and starring an early version of Colin Dexter’s Inspector Morse, is set in 1960s Oxford against a backdrop of revolutionary social change.

Just as Endeavour sobers up and returns to duty at Castle Gate, a body is unearthed in a College garden. As he and Thursday dig deeper, they find themselves drawn to a renowned Oxford orchestra, where a second tragedy strikes from among the ranks.

In the meantime, a horrible murder is perpetrated in an abandoned warehouse in Oxford, bringing the city’s share of the London underworld to its doorstep. As more of the mystery is revealed, Endeavour and Thursday find unnerving parallels to a case they thought they had put to rest.

Endeavour Season 9 will premiere Friday 3 March 2023 at 8.30pm on ABC.
