NBC Announce Crime Drama Renewals for the 2024-25 season

NBC announced the renewal of popular series “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order,” and “Law & Order: SVU” for the 2024-25 season. However, the status of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” is still under consideration.

All of these shows are created by Universal Television, a branch of Universal Studio Group, in collaboration with Wolf Entertainment. They are available for streaming on Peacock the day after they air.

The Chicago trilogy, comprising “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” and “Chicago P.D.,” stands out among the top 10 primetime entertainment programs this season, attracting a large viewership. Specifically, these shows dominate Wednesday nights in terms of viewership.

On Thursdays, “Law & Order: SVU” takes the lead as the number one entertainment show in the 18-49 demographic, marking its 25th season.

Across various platforms, all five series have seen significant growth compared to the previous season in terms of both total viewers and the 18-49 demographic. Each show has witnessed substantial increases in viewership and demographic ratings, with exceptional performances.

“Chicago Fire” boasts an average of 12.6 million viewers, marking an 86% increase, and 236% growth in the demographic. Similarly, “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Med” have seen substantial growth in viewership, accompanied by impressive gains in the 18-49 demographic.
