Original Drama “North of North” Now Filming for CBC
CBC, Netflix, and APTN have announced the commencement of production for “North of North” in Nunavut. The series, which was formerly known as “Untitled Arctic Comedy,” is a co-commission between CBC and Netflix in association with APTN. It is being produced by Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment.
The cast of “North of North” includes Mary Lynn Rajskub, Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Kelly William, Zorga Qaunaq, Doreen Simmonds, Tanya Tagaq, Anna Lambe, and Keira Cooper. They will join forces to bring this story to life.
The logline for the series reveals that it revolves around a young Inuk mother who aspires to build a new future for herself. However, achieving this goal won’t be easy in her small Arctic town where everyone knows each other’s business.
“North of North” boasts an impressive team behind the scenes as well. Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril serve as creators of the show. The executive producers include Stacey Aglok MacDonald, Alethea Arnaquq-Baril , Miranda de Pencier, Anya Adams Susan Coyne ,and Garry Campbell.
Several talented directors are also on board for this project. They include Anya Adams ,Danis Goulet ,Zoe Leigh Hopkins ,Lisa Jackson ,Renuka Jeyapalan ,and Aleysa Young .
