Power Universe Prequel Series “Origins” Set for STARZ
STARZ has exciting news for fans of the hit franchise series “Power” with the announcement of a new prequel series called “Origins.” This latest addition to the expanding “Power” universe will explore the origin stories of beloved characters Ghost and Tommy in a fresh and captivating way.
Kathryn Busby, President of Programming for STARZ, expressed her excitement about the new series, saying, “As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe. We can’t wait to see how ‘Origins‘ will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience.”
Sascha Penn takes on the role of executive producer for “Origins,” and the original creator and showrunner of “Power,” Courtney A. Kemp, is also involved as an executive producer through her production company End of Episode. Joining Kemp are Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television and Mark Canton through Canton Entertainment.
Lionsgate Television is producing this eagerly anticipated prequel series exclusively for STARZ. With three successful spinoffs already under their belt – including “Power Book II: Ghost,” currently gearing up for its fourth season in 2024; “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which is filming its fourth season in New York; and “Power Book IV: Force,” filming its third season in Chicago – there’s no doubt that audiences are eager to delve deeper into the lives of these complex characters.
