THE CHI’S Final 8 Episodes Will Premiere Friday, May 10th on SHOWTIME
The final 8 explosive episodes of season 6 of “The Chi,” created and executive produced by Lena Waithe, will premiere Friday May 10 on Showtime.
The sixth season of “The Chi” premiered with record-breaking viewership, ranking among the top premieres in streaming viewership for SHOWTIME. The season explores the highs and lows experienced by its characters. Emmett and Kiesha’s blended union is tested as Emmett becomes involved in a dangerous partnership with Douda, who is dealing with the aftermath of Q’s murder. Victor’s past influences his new role as a city councilman.
Newlyweds Jada and Darnell fear for their son Emmett’s safety after he makes a desperate move. Rob and Tiff’s cannabis business and Jake’s apparel line thrive, while Papa falls for an older woman and questions his faith after the loss of his father. Kevin lands a gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving behind Maisha to pursue her own career ambitions. However, danger looms ahead as no one is safe and everyone will face unprecedented tests in the final eight episodes of the season.
The cast of season six includes Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, and Curtiss Cook. Guest stars for this season include Lynn Whitfield, Jill Marie Jones, Kandi Burruss, La La Anthony, Vic Mensa, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Jason Weaver, Iman Shumpert, Nia Jervier, L’lerrét Jazelle and Hannaha Hall.
Executive producers Lena Waithe and Common are joined by Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Derek Dudley, Shelby Stone, and Rishi Rajani. Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel serve as co-showrunners for the sixth season. Naomi Funabashi is the overseeing producer for Hillman Grad, while Resheida Brady serves as a co-executive producer. Deondray Gossfield and Quincy LeNear Gossfield will direct multiple episodes in this season.
