“The Walking Dead: Dead City” to Premiere on June 18 with Official Trailer for “Fear the Walking Dead’s” Eighth and Final Season Unveiled at WonderCon 2023
AMC Networks recently held a panel for The Walking Dead: Dead City and Fear the Walking Dead at WonderCon, during which it confirmed the premiere date of the first Walking Dead Universe spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City. Coming to AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, June 18 at 10:00PM ET, the show features fan-favorite characters Maggie (played by Cohan) and Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they journey into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, which has long been cut off from the mainland, filled with the undead and other survivors. The following episodes broadcast at 9:00PM ET. AMC Networks also previewed the official trailer for season eight of Fear the Walking Dead, which debuts on Sunday, May 14 at 9:00PM ET on AMC and AMC+.
The Walking Dead: Dead City
In The Walking Dead: Dead City, Maggie and Negan face the challenges of surviving in a severely damaged and deadly Manhattan, where the city’s decaying infrastructure poses numerous threats. The two encounter the city’s inhabitants, who have adapted to the new environment by living without laws, creating their order. The show promises to deliver a mix of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror, which Walking Dead fans have come to expect.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8
During the panel moderated by Chris Hardwick, showrunners and cast members of Fear the Walking Dead revealed that season eight would take place seven years into the future following the events of season seven’s conclusion, where Morgan and Madison are stranded on an island ruled by the mysterious organization Padre. In season eight, Morgan, Madison, and the survivors they managed to bring to the island are disheartened, having lost hope for a better world. They pin their hopes on Morgan’s daughter Mo, the person they set out to rescue in the first place, to help reignite their belief in a better future.
