“True Crime Story: Smugshot” Premieres March 14 on SundanceTV
SundanceTV has released the trailer for its upcoming series, “True Crime Story: Smugshot,” which is set to premiere on Thursday, March 14 at 10 PM ET/PT on SundanceTV, AMC+, and Sundance Now. The six-episode anthology docu-series will focus on a different story in each episode, showcasing entitled individuals involved in elaborate criminal behavior.
The crimes explored in “True Crime Story: Smugshot” range from petty to devastating, but what sets this series apart is the surprising nature of the events surrounding each crime. The individuals featured in the series are driven by various motivations such as revenge, riches, status, glory, freedom, or fame. Despite having more to lose than to gain, these law-breakers hold onto their entitlement and believe they can get away with their actions. The stories presented in the series can be quirky and funny at times while also being outrageous or disturbing.
“True Crime Story: Smugshot” is a SundanceTV Original Series created and executive produced by award-winning documentary filmmakers Amy Bandlien Storkel and Bryan Storkel. Rebecca Stern, Jonathan Ignatius Green, and Bryan & Amy Storkel serve as episodic directors. The production studios behind the series are AMC Studios and Sidestilt Films.
Viewers can expect a weekly release of new episodes every Thursday until the two-part finale titled “Dickweed,” which will air on Thursday, April 11.
