At the age of 17, Terrill Swift says he was falsely accused of rape and murder by Chicago police officers during an interrogation. Swift was exonerated in 2012 on the basis of DNA evidence after spending more than a decade in prison for a crime he did not commit.
The subject of the Netflix documentary series “Making a Murderer,” Brendan Dassey was a high school student when he was questioned about his alleged involvement in the murder of Tereasa Halbach. Dassey’s lawyer, Laura Nirider, says her client was forced to confess.
