BBC Comedy BLACK OPS Gets Series 2: Dom, Kay, and Tevin Return for More Adventures

Black Ops, the critically acclaimed comedy thriller, has been given a second six-part series for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Critical acclaim and audience appreciation
Written by Gbemisola Ikumelo (Famalam, Brain in Gear), produced by Akemnji Ndifornyen (Famalam, The Queen’s Gambit), and written by Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woolf (Click and Collect, Witless), the show premiered in May of this year and has since received rave reviews from both audiences and critics.
Dom and Kay joined the Met Police as PCSOs in the first season so that they could clean up their neighbourhood, but instead they were thrust into the shadowy world of deep cover infiltration and a formidable criminal organisation.
The combination of an exciting thriller plot and hilarious comedic moments kept viewers glued to their screens, bringing in 2.3 million for the premiere and 1.6 million for the entire series (BARB 28 Day 4 Screen).
Series two will feature Gbemisola Ikumelo (Dom) and Hammed Animashaun (Kay) from the first season, both of whom will be thrust into new adventures. In addition, gang leader Tevin, played by Akemnji Ndifornyen, returns.
Quotes from Gbemisola and Akemnji
Gbemisola Ikumelo, says: “It’s been such a joy to see how audiences have got behind this show. So, it feels like a no-brainer to get the band back together and create more danger, adventure and laughs for everyone. This next season promises to have Dom and Kay really surprising us. Can’t wait!”
Akemnji Ndifornyen, added: “And we’re back! We had so much fun doing the first one we just had to go again. Much love to our audience for watching and to the BBC for their support. I can’t wait to show you what’s next for Dom, Kay – and of course – Tevin. Let’s go!”
The series will begin shooting in 2024, and additional casting announcements will be made at a later date.
