In the Tuesday 28 May episode of Emmerdale, Ethan and Charles share a heartfelt moment as they prepare for court. However, things take a turn when Charles returns from the kitchen to find Ethan collapsed on the floor. Manpreet rushes to his aid, attempting resuscitation, while Charles looks on, terrified and fearing the worst.
It’s all happening this week as Ethan Anderson (Emile John) finds himself in a dire situation as he collapses in dramatic scenes. This comes after he overhears a conversation between Ruby and Rose, which leaves him concerned for Dawn. He attempts to alert Dawn to his worries, leaving her a voicemail. However, before he can fully convey his message, Ethan collapses, leaving his family and the villagers in a panic.
Ethan’s collapse comes in the wake of other troubling events, including his involvement in a car accident that left Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) in a coma. Ethan had been driving while intoxicated and fled the scene, but later confessed to his father, Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), who reported him to the police. This led to tensions with Nicky’s parents, Ruby and Caleb Miligan (Beth Cordingly and Will Ash), who were shocked to discover Ethan’s role in the accident.
As Ethan prepares for his court appearance, he is targeted in a hit-and-run attack, which leaves him bloodied and clinging to life. He manages to stagger back to the village and collapses in front of his family and the villagers. Manpreet Jutla (Rebecca Sarker) and Charles try to resuscitate him, but his fate remains uncertain.
