Gemma & Gorka: Life Behind the Lens returns with a new episode on W on Monday, 27 May, 2024. In the fourth episode of the second series, the family embarks on a half-term holiday to Madrid, offering a much-needed break and an opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish culture. It also marks the first meeting between Thiago and his Spanish grandparents.
The family touches down in Madrid, eager to explore the city’s grand palaces, expansive public squares, and beautiful parks, with plenty of ice cream along the way. They discover new things about the city and each other: Mia develops a fondness for Spanish ham, while Gorka reveals Gemma’s appreciation for men in uniform, particularly the local Spanish police officers.
Eager to meet their grandson, Tio, for the first time, Gorka’s parents arrive early. Mia seizes the chance to practice her Spanish and learn some local dance moves from her adoring abuelo and abuela (grandpa and grandma). Meanwhile, Gemma looks into Gorka’s past, gaining insight into his parents’ perspective on his love affair with dancing.
As the holiday comes to an end, Mia wants to choose her favourite photo from the trip. With her papa’s help, she frames it, knowing that it will remind her of the happy times and her Spanish family. However, the moment turns emotional for Gorka.
