LEIGH SALES leads live ABC NEWS coverage of the 2022 federal budget

The Morrison government’s pre-election budget will be analysed by a team of ABC political and economic experts.

The Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, will deliver his Federal Budget live from Canberra at 7:30 p.m.*.

Join Leigh Sales for a Budget 2022 Special starting at 8 p.m., which will include live coverage of the budget announcement as well as interviews with the Treasurer and the Shadow Treasurer.

On the night, Leigh will be joined by David Speers, host of ABC TV’s Insiders, Andrew Probyn, ABC Political Editor, and Laura Tingle, 7.30’s Chief Political Correspondent, to examine what the pre-election budget means for you and your family. Jeremy Fernandez will also bring together a panel of undecided voters to measure their reaction to Budget 2022.

On Thursday, March 31, the ABC will broadcast Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s Budget Reply address at 7:30 p.m. (AEDT), followed by a special edition of 7.30 at 8 p.m.
