Mayo and his team, including new Detective Sergeant Alex Jones (an old girlfriend of Mayo’s), are called in to investigate a death at the luxury Rossi Clinic (a bit like the Priory, where the well off go to try and wean themselves off drugs). It looks like a straight forward case of suicide but Mayo is convinced there is more to it than that.
A good introductory episode with the opening scenes setting out Mayo’s MO well enough, he likes to recreate the crime scene in miniature using models and the team get around in a Wistern Valley pantechnicon. We also get introduced to Mayo’s home life, a single parent with a teenage daughter as well as his fetish for buying things off ebay.
