Paramount+ Renews the Star-Studded Espionage Thriller “Lioness” for a Second Season
The record-breaking series, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan stars Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman.
“Lioness,” the espionage thriller streaming on Paramount+, has been renewed for a second season. Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, the series renewal comes as no surprise given its impressive performance as the service’s most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day, attracting nearly six million total viewers.
Starring Zoe Saldaña in the lead role of Joe, a key CIA asset in the war on terror, the series also features a stellar supporting cast, including Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly, and Oscar winners Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman, who will be a series regular in the upcoming season.
The show is inspired by an actual U.S. Military program and explores the complex world of espionage and the personal and professional challenges faced by those on the front lines of national security.
With a gripping narrative, exceptional performances, and global appeal, “Lioness” has solidified its place in the highly competitive streaming landscape, underscoring the growing demand for high-quality, star-studded original content on streaming platforms.
