Reviving Detroit’s Iconic Neighborhoods: Keith Bynum & Evan Thomas Are Back on HGTV’s ‘BARGAIN BLOCK,’Season Premiere August 23
The journey of home renovation experts and partners Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas as they restore Detroit’s iconic American neighborhoods one house at a time will be chronicled in eleven new episodes of HGTV’s Bargain Block, premiering August 23.
Keith and Evan plan to buy multiple rundown houses on a single block, gut them to the studs, and rebuild them into affordable, stylish, and fully furnished starter homes aimed at first-time homebuyers with the help of their friend, lifetime Detroit resident and real estate expert Shea Hicks-Whitfield.
Bigger projects
The couple will take on bigger projects this season, and they’ll travel all over Detroit and its suburbs to find unique materials and ideas for their themed home renovations. They’ll go to Detroit landmarks to get inspired for the Classic Detroit house, spend a night under the stars for the Forrest House, and spend the day at an amusement park for the Physics House.
What can we expect from the season premiere
In the pilot episode, Keith and Evan purchase three abandoned houses in the area and settle on the one in the best condition, a four-bedroom, two-bath home with extensive fire and water damage that needs extensive work to repair. A letter from the city stating the home is scheduled for demolition will put a stop to the renovations just as they get started on making the dark, closed-off house into a spacious, airy, traditional-style home with an open layout.
Who is making the series
Bargain Block is produced by High Noon Entertainment.
